Dear Participant
Thank you for
your response to our first circular and call for papers. The response
was very good with 40 preliminary registrations from 14 countries
and 3 continents. We received 19 paper and 9 poster proposals.
Location:
Rich in historical monuments, Torun lies on the eastern side of the
Vistula River valley about 260 km from Warsaw. There are good train
and bus connections from Warsaw to Torun.
The Department of Geology and Hydrogeology is situated about 3 km
from the railway station in the centre of the city. You can find the
place on the attached map of the centre of Torun.

Field trip: stratigraphy and composition of the Gorzno drumlin field,
sedimentology of Weichselian deposits at Kurzetnik.

Presentation:
Time for every presentation will be 15 minutes and 5 minutes for discussion.
Slide, overhead and digital projectors will be available.
Abstracts of
papers and posters:
Abstracts should not exceed 3 pages, including figures, tables and
references. They should be sent (preferably electronically) to W.
Wysota. Deadline for abstract submission is February 15. All abstracts
should clearly state a preference for oral or poster presentation
and should include full name and contact details.

Posters:
Poster boards are 1.2 m high and 1.2 m wide. Please arrange your poster
accordingly.
Publication:
Full papers on subglacial environments are invited for a special volume
of an international journal. Submission deadline is July 31; details
will be given at the symposium.
Registration
fee:
The cost is 400 US$. It covers accommodation from June 17 (afternoon)
to 23 (afternoon) including full board, excursion travel, social programme
and conference materials. The registration fee does not cover any
health or travel insurance. The full fee (transferred free of charge
to the beneficiary) must reach us no later than by February 15. Please
