The library mainly contains publications on geomorphology, hydrology, climatology, geology, economic and social geography, geography of Poland, regional geography and the protection of the natural environment. The library contains 17,903 books and 13,997 volumes of periodicals. The Institute also has a collection of maps, geographical atlases and aerial photographs, together about 43,000 items.
